Target date set for move.

We have a “target date” of July 14 for the move to the new facility.Work is nearly complete and we have begun to move in shelving etc. Thanks to donations we have very lttile furniture to pruchase. Once we are settled an open house date will be set. we think you will be poroud of the new facility.

Project Up-Date

We are nearing the end of the construction project. Landscaping has begun, the lot is paved, and the bulk of the interior construction is complete. We are still on target for a completion in early June with the Departments occupying the facility some during that month.

Work progresses and we are still on schedule for a June opening. Site work has re-started and the interior finish work is continuing. The Committe is very happy with the facility, overall. We look forward to showing you your building.

Tower installation

Construction update

The Complex is now substanially “tight to the weather”. The sheetrock is up, windows are in , and the fire department garage doors have been installed. All of the rough electrical in the office side is complete and they have moved on to the fire bays. They are also in the process of constructing the mezzanine in the fire apparatus bay.

The roo has been tar papered and is awaiting shingles. Rough electrical has begun. The lot is due to receive a coat of pavement on Tuesday 11/24. Interior walls are mostly completed, and the concret floor in the apparatus bay has been poured. Some sheetrock has been installed.

Roof Trusses installed

We have walls…

The contractors have started working on the walls of the station . The trusses are due September 22. We ae on schedule to be weather tight before the snow flies… the “hole” front fo the picture is an underground water run off detention area.

Work Continues…

The lot has been cleared and Virgilio Inc has been hauling exceess material from the site for the past three weeks. The building site is now almost level. The well has been drilled and work will soon begin on the foundation. Pictures added this date.

Where did all that “dirt” go?

The Contractor (Fontaine Brothers) “owns “ the site. Including excavation and responsibility for the disposal of the excess material. The loam is piled on site to use as top cover for the final landscaping. the sand has to be tested to ascertain if it is suitable for fill around the foundation etc. The remainder had to be removed from the site and disposed of as fill. There is a rock crusher on site to handle the ledge that has been excavated.

The Town did retain the hardwood for use in the Town’s fuel assistance program.
